Seeing You There

This was a series of drawings and works on paper around the theme of place, memory and attachment. All the images are set in the natural landscape; at the beach, walking in the woods, looking at the wonder of nature and our relationship to that natural landscape as a refuge from urban living - a place of reflection and deep connection. It is also our need to seek out or revisit places that become imbued with personal stories, tradition and memories creating attachments and a different kind of link to nature.  Not just a refuge but a place that is an extension of our physical, cultural and social selves. Whether it is a walk in the park, a swim in the sea or a trek through forests, nature gives us pleasure; it seeps into us gives us space to think and feel connected to the wider world.
